About Scenart

A scene search engine for Flemish TV series, built because the alternative is scrubbing through every episode yourself.

Why this site exists

Everyone knows the feeling: you remember a scene and even what was said, but not which episode it was in. With 273 episodes that is a needle in a haystack, and the official search functions only look at titles and summaries.

Scenart searches the subtitles themselves. You type the line you remember, as literally as you can, and you get the episode with the fragment and a link to watch it.

How it works

The subtitles of every episode are stored as fragments in a database. A search first matches on the words themselves, after which a language model judges which fragments genuinely fit your question.

Because people type the way they speak while subtitles are written in standard Dutch, your query is converted as well. If nothing turns up, the line was probably subtitled differently from how it sounds.

Who is behind it

Scenart is built and maintained by Lennart Vermeire. It is a personal project, not a company, and there is no team behind it.

About the rights

Scenart is an independent fan project with no ties to the makers or rights holders of the series. Subtitle fragments are shown only as evidence that a scene appears in a given episode, and the episodes themselves are watched at the official provider.
